Sample Journey. Details adjusted to protect privacy. All other details are accurate.

At a Glance

Travelers: Three New York-based corporate executives
Journey: A European circuit with investor meetings in London, Frankfurt, and Zurich
Duration: 10 days
Savings: $17,970 across three tickets, 42% below standard pricing
Highlights: 1-2-1 lie-flat on the transatlantic leg. Single booking across all three executives. Premium rail integrated when the day of departure changed.

The Challenge

Three executives from the same New York company were traveling together on a ten-day European circuit. Investor meetings in London, Frankfurt, and Zurich. One transatlantic leg out, one back, and multiple European stopovers in between.

Public bookings offered a version that meant four separate tickets across three different airline alliances. The overnight transatlantic leg was timed so poorly the executives would arrive at their London meetings on broken sleep. If a single leg went wrong, no one airline was responsible for fixing the rest. And, loyalty benefits were scattered across three programs, so nothing accumulated properly.

For the three senior executives traveling to investor meetings, none of that was acceptable. The trip needed to be planned as one journey, not four disconnected bookings.

They called us.

Our Thinking

A few principles shaped how we approached the trip.

The first was that three executives from the same company had to travel as one group. Same cabin product, same lounge, same itinerary.

The second was that the transatlantic leg was the anchor of the whole trip. If the executives landed in London tired, the London meetings suffered. Everything else was downstream of that overnight.

Booking four separate tickets across three different airlines meant the trip had no backup. If any one flight went wrong, no single airline would be responsible for fixing the rest. Whatever we constructed had to sit under one booking.

The fourth was that a ten-day trip with multiple European legs carries real disruption risk. Weather, strikes, mechanical failures - any of these could take out a single leg. Whatever we built had to be actively monitored.

The Solution

Effortless planning

  • Three executives' schedules and preferences coordinated into a single itinerary
  • One unified corporate booking with consolidated invoicing to the company
  • One dedicated point of contact from our side, from planning through arrival
  • All research, fare comparison, and coordination handled by us

Travel with confidence

  • 1-2-1 lie-flat cabin on the transatlantic leg, with long-haul widebody and lounge Wi-Fi
  • Multiple European stopovers embedded into the single booking
  • Every leg actively watched from ticketing through arrival

Exceptional value

  • Saved $17,970 across three tickets, 42% below standard pricing
  • Structured against a private airline contract that embedded the European stopovers into a single booking
  • Discounted business class on every segment

The Outcome

The journey operated as planned, and when it didn't, our team had already rebuilt it.

Thirty-six hours before departure, a Heathrow ground-handler strike was announced. Our air desk had been tracking early signals for two days, and had begun rebuilding the itinerary before the strike went public and before the airline issued its cancellation. When the cancellation came, the new plan was already in place.

The executives flew into London on the original transatlantic leg, then took premium rail to Paris, connected onward through alternative European air space, and picked up the transatlantic return on a later departure. All three arrived on schedule for their investor meetings, rested and ready.

The savings were the entry point. Everything else was a Travelopod advantage.
