You’ll cruise through the limestone labyrinth of Ha Long Bay after spending a day exploring the temples of Hanoi on a bicycle before you dive into the history of Northern Vietnam. Marvel at the lushness of the Central Vietnamese forests and rice paddies in the quaint town of Hoi An, before travelling south to view the unique architecture of the Coa Tai Temple and the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City. The Plan:

Day 1 Hanoi

Welcome to Vietnam! You will be greeted at the airport by a smiling hostess with a sign, before being fast-tracked through the visa process and meeting your personal driver. From the airport you will be transferred to your hotel to relax and take in Hanoi.

Day 2 Hanoi (Full day tour by car :8 hours )

Today, you will embark on your tour of Hanoi. You’ll be picked up by your driver and taken to see Ho Chi Minh’s former residence and his mausoleum, as well as One Pillar Pagoda and the grand temple of Literature. Enjoy an authentic lunch before seeing Ngoc Son Temple and experiencing a cyclo tour! Finish the day at a water puppet show!

Day 3 Hanoi – HaLong Bay (3 hours by car)

In the morning you will be taken from Hanoi to wonderful Ha Long Bay – enjoy the spectacular scenery en-route. You will board your luxury cruise ship and enjoy a fantastic overnight stay on the bay itself. Enjoy complimentary kayaking and explore the water at your pleasure, before enjoying a lavish dinner in the evening.

Day 4 HaLong Bay – Hanoi (3 hours), Hanoi – Da Nang (1.20 hours), Da Nang – Hoi An (40 mins)

After an early rise to enjoy breakfast and Tai Chi on the boat’s sun deck, you will be privately transported back to Hanoi before flying south to DaNang. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by a personal driver and transported to the ancient town of Hoi An to check into your hotel and relax!

Day 5 Hoi An (Tour with guide by car: 7 hours)

After breakfast you will be met by your English speaking guide who will take you to nearby My Son, a beautiful temple complex that dates back from the early Cham period of Vietnam. Spend time wandering through the impressive temples before being taken back to Hoi An, a spectacular ancient town. Cycle to see the Japanese Bridge and other historical monuments!

Day 6 Hoi An ( Half day morning tour - 5hrs)

You will be met by your guide and taken to experience a fantastic half-day cooking course to uncover the secrets of delicious Vietnamese food! The experience starts with a market tour where you can buy the freshest produce, before a 25-minute boat ride to the open air cooking school. Enjoy your creation amidst the stunning scenery.

Day 7 Hoi An – Da Nang (40 mins), Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City (1.15 hours)

The morning is yours to spend at your leisure. Later in the day, you’ll be driven back along the ocean road to Da Nang to board your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, you will be met by your personal driver and taken to your hotel to relax and unwind.

Day 8 Ho Chi Minh City (Full day tour with guide by car:8 hours)

Start your exploration of Ho Chi Minh with a visit to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, used to great effect in the Vietnam War. After marvelling at this underground complex, you’ll be taken back to Ho Chi Minh City for a tour of the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Post Office building, before finishing your day at the bustling Ben Thanh Market.

Day 9 Ho Chi Minh City – Siem Reap (1 hour)

Today your diver will transport you to Ho Chi Minh Airport for your flight to Cambodia. After the short flight, you’ll be greeted and fast-tracked through the visa process. Then you’ll be whisked away to your hotel to relax and recuperate.

Day 10 Siem Reap. (Full day tour with guide by car: 12.5 hours)

Start your day early at Angkor Wat to see the incredible sunrise over the magnificent temples! Then, take advantage of your private Tuk Tuk to explore the temples- including the Bayon Temple and the mystical Ta Prohm.

Day 11 Siem Reap (Half day tour with guide by car:5 hours)

Today, you’ll explore Siem Reap and take a Tuk Tuk ride to Lolei, Bakong, and Preah Ko Temples. After this thrilling half-day tour, you will be returned to your hotel where you can enjoy the afternoon at your own leisure.

Day 12 Siem Reap – Hanoi (1.5 hours) (Morning tour with guide by car: 4 hours)

As your time in this wonderful country draws to a close, you will have one more opportunity to take in the majestic temples as your personal guide takes you to see Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. Afterwards, you will be taken to the Siem Reap Airport to board a flight back home.

Weather and climate

Vietnam

The weather in Vietnam fluctuates based on the season and your location. The northern part of the country can get very cold in the winter, but summers tend to be moderate. In Central and South Vietnam, summers are very hot and humid.

Cambodia

Cambodia is a rather flat country and so the weather is fairly uniform throughout the whole country. There are two distinct seasons – the dry season runs from October to April, and the wet season from May to September. May and June are typically the hottest, wettest months of the year.
